A buyers tips
As most people seem to keep a low port to prevent raiding, it can have an unwanted affect on your buyers as well.
The other day, I sent off a fleet to pick up about 200,000 gold worth of marble, it was at the dock forever to load.
I receive a message later stating that the town went under attack while I was loading and my fleet had to escape with what was loaded.
My fleet came back with 300 marble and the town got to keep the gold.
So, from now on, I stagger my purchases with a handful of small fleets (until I run out of points)

i use to keep my ports higher than five, however in my main city its lvl 8, so its basically like 300 resources loaded per minute, its pretty fast.

As a salesman I keep mine at 12. Bu I also have enough transport that if I do get attacked, I can load everything up and move it to safer pastures until the attack is over.
